Injury timeout
Trail has scoffed at our schedule and thrown it into disarray. We took yet another rest day today because yesterday took a toll on both our bodies. We both have knee pain and because we're heading into more remote areas we don't want to take the risk of getting a serious injury far from civilisation.
We've made the tough decision to spend a few days in Invercargill, the nearest large town. Vaughan will see a physiotherapist because both knees are injured and not improving very quickly.
Feeling a little disheartened at the moment, but the plan is to return to the trail ASAP. The next few sections can be broken down into shorter days, which will help us ease back into walking.
We won't send any more blog updates until we're back on the trail, so don't worry if it's a few days before you hear from us again :)
Keep up the good work! Sending you thoughts and prayers to heal quickly and be able to resume your adventure! Love to you both! Sarah Sparks

DeleteBe wary of those Nees. Give them a shrubbery, and all will be ok. After all 'tis but a flesh wound.
