Happy Thought for 16 September 2022
Have a Happy Thought:
Sometimes when you hear something once, it doesn’t stick. But the next time you hear about something similar, your brain goes “oh, yeah, I remember this!”
That’s what happened to me when I stumbled across this example of how pupils are shaped so very, very differently in different animals.
It reminded me that I’d written about
this to all of you once before (refresh
your memory here).
But today is just a quick note, to bring you all in to join in the wonder that is nature, in the form of weird animal pupils:
Close-up images of six animal eyes, showing the different pupil shapes. Clockwise from top left: the w-shaped pupil of a cuttlefish; a round pupil of a lion; a horizonal, square pupil of a goat; a "beads on a string" pupil of a gecko; a horizontal, oval pupil of a horse; a vertical oval pupil of a domestic cat.
